Alice Ferrulo began her formal training in dance with the Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen, Denmark. She holds: a Master of Fine Arts Degree in theater with an emphasis in directing via the Theater General Program, 1995, a Master of Arts Degree in dance, theater and film with emphases in performance, choreography and directing via the Individual Interdisciplinary Program, 1994, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in dance, summa cum laude, 1985 - all from Ohio University.

Ms. Ferrulo was a company member of: Paris and New York based Calck Hook Dance Theater with artistic directors Wendy Shankin-Cohen and Doris Seiden and producer Thomas King Flagg III from 1985 through 1986, and New York based Blondell Cummings and Dancers with artistic director Blondell Cummings from 1985 through 1988.

She served as supervisor of the telemarketing department of New York’s Metropolitan Opera from 1987 through 1989.

Upon moving to the Tampa Bay area, Florida, Ms. Ferrulo taught professionally.

 

Ms. Ferrulo also held the positions of gallery manager and interdisciplinary arts educator at Creative Clay, a cultural arts center offering classes to students of all ages with various disabilities, from 2006 through 2007.

Most recently, as image maker, Ms. Ferrulo pursues her artistic endeavors under the umbrella of Black Horse Theatre dance macabre, an avant garde company, L.L.C., which she established in 2006.

She was an associate artist with the Studio@620 from 2007 through 2019. Ms. Ferrulo is currently a resident artist of the ArtsXchange, and a member of both the Warehouse Arts District Association and Florida CraftArt.
